Why only three points upon the top of the celestial column?

I recently noticed that the two pillars in our lodge are not tht same. One of them has only 3 points at the top of the column upon which sit the globes.

Can someone please shed some light as to why this is?

On brother gave me his thoughts but I am looking for a more rigid explanation.

Brother the Pillars are manufactured by different groups, etc. So it is likely the particular meaning is lost with the artist, but it is likely for him it was significant.

It is safe to say the "allusion to the number three may be found where ever we turn our steps in Masonry."

I tend to agree with Brother Porter.

I can attest to the fact that our pillars have no "points" atop of them, other than that of the orb's top axis point(s).
