I agree with them on the loitering and coming in to just use the bathroom. For some customers (elder, women etc) it can be rather intimidating to have to fight through a crowd of men to get into the store. Ive seen the same policy's in areas there there is a large population of homeless that hang around panhandling.

I remember growing up 7-11 wouldnt allow more than a few teenagers in the store at the same time. It wasnt about race it was about lose prevention and that the store is there to make money and its facilities are for its customers.

Its rather short sighted to not allow sales.

My thoughts exactly

The whole time I was watching it, I was thinking "I bet corporate would have a problem with them not taking someones money, no matter who they are".

I agree with the loitering but the fact the police are there to "enforce" the no sales seems to me a bit extreme. I just kept asking "How do you know who a day laborer is?" Then "What are they taking pictures of?" I don't know I don't have a problem keeping you off your property if they are just sitting there but why deny sales?

I am not familiar with the term "day laborer". Are these people permanent citizens? These workers should be treated the same way I should be treated. They should act the same way I should act. No stealing, No loitering, No mistreatment of the elderly, and No disrespect to womanhood. If I act this way, throw my butt out. But, when you do, don't apply this to Kentuckians who know how to act.

Typically day laborers is a term applied to a group of people who hang out at a single location and hope somebody comes by needing helpers. The need is limited to a single day or limited use, so lets say you as a home owner need somebody to help with a project around your house but do not want to hire permanent help or a contractor. Contractors also may hire them for a project, that is limited in scope where they do not want on going help. It does not apply to a specific ethnicity nor legal status.

I have been to a convenience store where I have been repeatedly asked if I needed help. From a customer perspective it is annoying to be solicited more then once for help when all I want is diesel. I can see where a store might want a policy in place, at the same time in my personal opinion a sale is a sale. If all they are doing is standing there and waiting there isn't a issue if in the past they have solicited customers or otherwise problems have arisen I could see a reason for the policy.

Race Tracs can also be a franchise and the local owner may have had a policy which was not endorsed by the corporate conglomerate. Not sure that this is the case but I do know that Race Tracs are not all owned by the conglomerate.

For those you from out of state, a little Texan education - A "Day Laborer" is not to be confused with a "Day Worker", which is a cowboy who works on different ranches with daily pay (as opposed to being employed by one ranch). Both are vital to our economy:biggrin:

Their dealer lease/franchise stores are called Race Way.
