Hi

I’m a mason from Australia and my mother lodge is the Geelong Lodge of Unity and Prudence No.5

I’m planning a trip to the USA (Texas and Nevada) this Coming December and wanted to visit a lodge. I plan to visit in the first two weeks of December.

I’m also a serving police officer in Australia and was wondering if there are any emergency services lodges in the area I’m visiting.

Im on the process of getting clearance from my GL but was looking for any lodge recommendations.

Thanks for the assistance,

James

Hi Bro James
If a current member of U&P you will need a Travel Letter from the Sec. This is signed by the WM, Sec and yourself. Ask Bro Colin for one, but not yet. Ask Bro Berry for a list of Lodges you can visit, GL office holds a list of them and UGLV will have an official Rep to Texas (not sure about Nevada, but likely). Not sure if Dec is a good time to visit... Your travel letter carries the dates you are paid to, so request it after 1 July when you have paid your dues. That way it will be good until 30 June 2021. No point getting one now - it will only describe you as good standing unto 30 June 2020. It will confuse Americans - they will ask for your "Dues Cards" but UGLV Lodges do no issue them..

Also worth noting I understand UGLV is in Amity (has fraternal relations) with both Grand Lodge Texas and also the Prince Hall GL of Texas.

U&P has a good rep. There are lots of Texan Masons here (@Bill Lins @Bro. David F. Hill @Bro. Kurt P.M. ) who might be able to help you. There is a whole section of this Web site on TX Freemasonry http://www.myfreemasonry.com/forums/freemasonry-in-texas.388/
so you've come to the right place.. I suggest you also post this question in that part of the web site, but specific to Texas Lodges - you should be able connect with members of TX lodges here..

Are you a MM ?

Greetings and welcome to the forum! If you plan on staying in Central Texas I would recommend visiting the grand Lodge of Texas in Waco, it has an incredible library and museum.
