The blue one makes it all go away. You wake up in the morning as if nothing happened.
The red one ... you see just how far the rabbit hole goes.
Oh...wrong red or blue.
Sorry!
Initial deposit was 100 at the time of turning in my petition.
250 was due at the time of initiation.
Dues are 110 a year.
HOWEVER!
If you find yourself active in Lodge and participating in FUNdraising activities ... you could be looking upwards of 400 a year.
The lighthearted replier in me wants to say, "to make sure my apron is in its proper place."
The serious replier in me would say, "If a woman was being initiated, I'm sure you'd see some women on the sidelines as well. I think I would have been tipped off when the stewards serving dinner before...
We have a Brother who was I/P and R in NY and now is an officer in my lodge. He did the apron presentation for us for fun and I like their version much better than the NJ version.
hah, true.
Ceremonies.
Thank you.
Our progression line is as follows.
Junior Steward, Senior Steward, Junior MoC, Senior MoC, Junior Decon, Senior Decon, JW, SW and then the big chair.
Fortunately our lodge has members wanting to be in the line so the only way to get to the east faster than...
We have to order through our GL or through a GL approved vendor. Our secretary has an ID number through which orders are placed. They wont sell to a lodge that is not 'official.'
Ours uses this style. It is probably similar to what dmurawsky mentioned.
Local lodge color is silver though. Gold chains are reserved for Grand Staff.
I tend to not speak masonically in public.
I understand that to be talking about what goes on behind a tiled/tyled door.
I would just ask him what lodge he belonged to if I'm just going to shoot the breeze with him.
exchanging dues cards to talk about a certain section of the MM degree while...
I wound up finding myself at rehearsals before I was an officer. It kind of grew for me from there.
I practice the degree examinations, mentor new brothers and examine them in open lodge.
I'm now a Marshal and soon to be senior steward.
I help when I can without putting Masonry in front of my...
Wiki cut and paste. These officers are in use in the GL of NJ.
The offices of 'Senior and Junior Masters of Ceremony' appear in some jurisdictions. Their primary duty is to prepare candidates prior to each of the three degrees. They also help conduct the candidates during the degree conferral...
You have to be a 360 degree mason to know this.
So those that know about the 360 degree masons are:
....360 degree masons and everyone else who has zero masonic affiliation. Us third degree masons had our memory wiped and have no knowledge of such trickery.
Our books are issued straight from GL and you usually have to be an officer or want to be an officer to get one. At least in my lodge you have to be. There have been many revisions since the 40's however it reminds us to guard it wisely even though the actual secrets are not printed.
I would be curious to know if this book had the installation and funeral in it. Even some of the degree lectures are in there but there are huge chunks missing.
We get two books now. Opening, closing and degree work in one which is 99 % in cipher and a second one that has the funeral and...
I find that interesting and heard it elsewhere as well.
The only requirements in NJ are that it has to be opened on the old testament and cannot be a page with a picture. We do not utilize book marks in order to open on the page which contains the prayer for that particular degree.
This is actually the duty of the Junior Warden. Remember, he provides refreshment for the craft.
Where do the Stewards sit? In the south under the charge of the JW so technically we do his 'cooking' and 'cleaning' for him but it is not officially our job.
NJ has Junior and Masters of Ceremonies...
It is not part of the Progressive line.
I am a Marshal in the GLNJ.
I sit to the left of the Chaplin and face West.
My duties that I have done in Lodge this year.
- Give the grand honors.
- Conduct candidates for Initiation, Passing and Raising.
---The Senior Master of Ceremonies conducts...
