    Cipher books

As the other Brethren have already mentioned to you, the answer to your question varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. The Brethren that you SHOULD be asking are the Brethren "of knowledge" in your Lodge, I suggest the Worshipful Master and or Secretary. That is the best and correct answer...

    Belonging to other groups

What free time?? All kidding aside, I have a wonderful wife and two kids that I spend any and all remaining free time with. I am blessed to have everything I have, and lucky that my wife is as involved in Masonry as I am! Soon the girls will be involved in Rainbow's. I have always been a firm...

[GLoT] Question on officers present when opening lodge

See the following GLoTX Laws: Art. 269; Art. 270; Art. 285; Art. 286 This should clear everything up.... Oh and of course Art. 271 first paragraph, already quoted.

[GLoT] Question on officers present when opening lodge

In part I am teaching you to read the book directly. Remember you must look at the question from a couple of angles. Dig deeper the answers are in the book. Don't always trust what is "said".... I have been over this on several times... Have Fun, and learn in the process.

[GLoT] Question on officers present when opening lodge

Re: [GLoT] Question on officers present when openning lodge In the extreme case that there is no WM, SW, JW, or the most recent Past Master; a Past Master (of the same lodge) may assume the East. But yes, it is conceivable that you can have the prerequisite number but not have sufficiently...

    Dues Card

You only need a Certificate of Good Standing to petition for York Rite or any other appendant body. Not your dues card. Still, this comes from your local Secretary and signed by the Worshipful Master. At least in TX anyhow...

[GLoT] Question on officers present when opening lodge

Re: [GLoT] Question on officers present when openning lodge To open an EA lodge (GLoTX) seven members must be present, only one has to be a Master Mason. Refer to the EA lecture. According to the original post, there were 6 MM's present, a total of 11 members.

[GLoT] Question on officers present when opening lodge

Re: [GLoT] Question on officers present when openning lodge The answer to your question is, yes. All elected and appointed officers must be in their proper positions when opening and closing. The only ones allowed to move are... Senior Warden to the East when the East is vacant. Junior...

    Dues Card

No I do not believe so. Your local Secretary should be your primary source of communication with Grand Lodge.

Do you consider others from unchartered lodges your brother?

There is a very small part of me that wants to say Yes. However... If we acknowledge every so-in-so from anywhere USA without a standardized recognition system enforced... who's to say, at that point that any self professed individual choosing to call himself a Mason would then become...
