    Answers to your Catholic Questions

Still though, I did not start this thread to proclaim Catholics are right. I started it because I am Catholic and So I might answer questions people here may have, as it seems to be a popular subject in this sub forum.

    Answers to your Catholic Questions

It's not about winning and losing. And, admittedly I may not know much about masons since I am not one, but I think it is unfair to say masons stay away from politics. In lodge, this is the case. But I understood revering God as one of the duties of a mason, to be applied to his daily life.

    Answers to your Catholic Questions

Catholics believe that our faith expresses the fullness of truth, that fullness defined in the doctrine and practice of the Catholic faith. We believe that this full expression of the truth finds it's origin in Christ. For a Catholic, our believes are not arbitrarily tacked on, but originate...

    Answers to your Catholic Questions

It's not about the Pope's power, but his authority. Catholics understand that Jesus Christ instituted the Church, giving authority to Peter and his successors. The giving of the keys to heaven, as well as the power of binding and loosing, are all scriptural authority given to Peter. A...

A united church would be great. For a Catholic, that can only be achieved when our separated Christian brethren return to communion with Rome and the Successor of Peter, the Pope.

It's always nice to see the Pontiff relate to other groups. This Holy Father is a saintly man. And no, as of yet I am not a Mason (if this is what you mean by brotherhood). I will petition a lodge as soon as I am old enough to do so in my jurisdiction.

    Answers to your Catholic Questions

After perusing this forum, I have noticed that a seemingly inordinate amount of posts in this sub-forum deal with questions regarding the Catholic Church, accompanied by a great many misunderstandings. I would like to help rectify that. I myself am Catholic, and am pretty knowledgable in most...

How the united states government was organized

I have read the federalist papers. I do not deny that reference may have been made, however I do hold that on a practical level, outside of rhetoric, these men were much more in touch with their experience of English constitutionalism. And the bit about parallelism was my attempt to steer this...

    1717-2017

I won't be able to petition in my jurisdiction until I am 21, which will be 2017. Unless, of course, the Grand Lodge changes the requirement.

    1717-2017

I'm a little ticked, because if the jurisdiction where I live let 19 year olds petition, I could be a Master Mason during the 300-anniversary celebrations. Oh well.

How the united states government was organized

The British Empire was much more accessible to the Founding Fathers. Perhaps they may have claimed a relational system to Rome, but it was within the context of what they knew as the British system. The House of Commons and House of Lords closely resemble the House of Reps. and Senate. The...

How the united states government was organized

-Continued- Goes against all evidence. Many contemporary domestic issues are left to the states. Gay marriage is one example. As has been previously stated, the U.S. Is explicitly modeled off the British parliamentary system, substituting a constitutional monarch with an elected executive...

How the united states government was organized

I have to disagree wholeheartedly. First, your last sentence confuses me. It seems to suggest that the states do not have rights any longer. While the federal government may have taken a greater role in the recent past, to suggest that the states do not have rights before the federal government

How the united states government was organized

it's hardly as though the Jews elected a King, and local officials to boot. And the US federal government really didn't step into it's larger role until FDR. No offense to anyone here, but this post seems more motivated by a particular view of how government should be (in the author's view)...

    Lodge of research

Based on my limited understanding, a lodge of research is a lodge that meets semi-annually, usually four times a year, whereby members present papers and on Masonic topics in lodge. This lodges usually have a large library/archive and preserve older Masonic documents. I don't think they...

Live NMJ, be a apart of SJ

Based on some limited topical research, I feel the SJ offers a more rounded-out and complete version of the SR degrees. One problem. I love in the NMJ. Would it be possible, after being raised, to petition the SJ and be accepted?

    Concordant Recognition

Maybe this would be better placed in the Appendant Bodies section. I am curious about traveling. If, for example, a Master from the US traveled to England, he could visit a regular blue lodge. But how would this work for lodges of the Appendant bodies? If, say, a 32 degree SR mason from...

    De Facto Hierarchy

As someone who hopes to be a mason. I was wondering. It's always said the highest degree is the third, and that the heart of masonry is on the blue lodge. Concordant bodies are other organizations that are masonic inasmuch they have a system of degrees and strive towards similar principles...
