Brother, you did a -very- impressive job on that. The candidate was actually a brother from my lodge. Please keep up the excellent work. :)
Hopefully I'll get the chance to shake your hand next time!
I haven't attended many large lodges but I'd expect it to be more difficult to work through the chairs due to more people wanting to do so. Other than that it's just a matter of personal taste and finding a lodge that suits you best.
It's probably a bit short notice but I was curious if any companions (or soon to be companions) planned on attending the Tarrant County Yorkrite Festival this weekend.
I can't be there tonight (Friday) but I plan to be there tomorrow most of the day.

Touche my brother!
While location may not be an innovation, the ritual has almost certainly changed since the days most lodges were meeting in taverns. Not only that but brethren who are more well traveled than I can attest that many GL jurisdictions do things very differently than we do in...
I have the same bible pictured and a short search through it didn't turn up any of the images posted, although there was one of Bro. Washington.
As for the image labeled 'King James', I'm fairly sure that's Hermetic and I would have been surprised to have found it if I did.
I find that when I button my jacket it kind of bunches up above my apron when I sit and I need to tug it down when I stand up. :1:
I was always taught that you unbutton your jacket when you sit down and button it when you stand back up so, when in lodge, it seemed to make the most since to just...
Hm...I was on a typing spree before I glanced up and saw the post above mine. I don't agree with 100% of the video but I certainly believe there are repercussions for our actions/inactions. I've decided not to go into specifics at the risk of alienating any of my brethren though. :)
I didn't know you were taking a hiatus but I'm glad to hear everything went so well.
To be honest, the DDGM presentations always seemed pretty generic to me.
I'm in agreement about the GL building...but I do like having grand sessions in Waco since it's only an hour away from me.
Except in this case it's commonly believed that we're the ones that are conspiring.
Now mind you, I enjoy conspiracies myself and even think a few (that are completely unrelated to Freemasonry) may even have some merit. I just think the fellows that believe Freemasons are secretly Illuminati...
Image isn't working for me.
I don't mind the crazies though, they put so much garbage out on the internet that it makes it hard for anyone to learn our actual secrets without joining a lodge.
Plus they're amusing. :)
We have to be careful with who we allow to use are facilities. As some have said, if anything happens in a lodge that might reflect poorly on our fraternity then the nutters will be sure to blow it out of proportion.
Well it's definitely interesting, assuming one believes the Templar/Mason connection. I wonder if there is anything else like that that could be find if one examines the ritual from this perspective.
