    Masonic Rites

Like the first "expose" happening within a few years of the first GL, varying versions, additions, permutations, etc, followed quickly. A number of rites listed there are still practiced and recognized, some in the US, some in other jurisdictions. One other thing to keep in mind, UGLE alone has...

Out of state membership records requests

Check the other GL's website first; some have genealogy assistance links. If there isn't anything on the site, I'd (personally) go up the chain through the Sec/GrandSec. Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry

Do freemasons serve GOD and Satan ?

Once again, I have no idea what you're on about. "Satan" is pretty specific to certain religions, and the "fight against him" is specific to them as well. Freemasonry is not a religion, and you really need to comprehend that if you truly want to join. Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry

    Feelings about wearing light...

I feel it is personal choice, though I definitely think some Brothers go over-the-top. I don't wear "a lot" of advertising, but that's my choice. Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry

    Best Chapeaus

I attended an Easter service one year in a black suit with my Malta medal. I was unsure of what anyone would say about the lack of a uniform. The Grand Commander tapped my medal and told me not to worry, as I was wearing the only required piece of regalia. I'll keep my opinion if the Civil War...

    Tonight is the night!

Freemasonry is not a business. If you want to join a lodge, find one nearby. If you're starting a business, good luck! Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry

    Surprise!! You're elected to S.D.

The year I was Raised is the only year I haven't worn an officer's apron. My mother lodge starts it's line at Chaplain, which throws several long memorizations at young Masons right away. It's the only lodge I've seen that done in.

    The Significance of Regularity

    Pub/Bar Lodges

NYLight is correct, the GLNF has been returned to amity with UGLE. For severs years I've had this working daydream of a little inn with a simple lodgeroom upstairs. Depending on the furnishings, it could even serve as a museum by day. Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry

    Pub/Bar Lodges

They met in rooms above the tavern, not actually in it. It would be the same as a private dining room in a restaurant today. Many lodges in Scotland have a full-service bar in their buildings. The US still suffers from dry counties and failed Prohibition mentality. Sent from my iPhone using My...

    Military fraternization and masonry

"Sir" is always acceptable, as is Brother (when in lodge). I once has a job in the Navy where, as an E-5, I had positional authority over anyone assigned to me, regardless of rank. I still called the officers Sir... Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry

    Military fraternization and masonry

If the President can be on the Level in lodge, so can all ranks of military. Outside the lodge? You had better remember your etiquette. Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry

    Lapel Pen ???

Anyone who would "challenge" a Master Mason over a lapel pin, in his own lodge, needs to review their obligations. You earned the pin, wear it. Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry
