In Texas vehicles are required to have a front license plate.I have seen a number of vehicles with Masonic plates. After i reach the level of MM I would like to have a masonic plate as well.If I removed my current front plate and installed a Masonic plate, would I get in trouble with law enforcement?:001_huh:

If you aren't a Freemason, why would you want to?

If your vehicle is registered in Texas, you can order Texas Masons license plates that have the Square and Compass on the left of the plate number. You can order them at the Tax Assessor office and online I think. I got mine at the Tax Assessor office, so I'm not sure where you go online to order. If you go to the Tax Assessor, be sure to ask for the "Texas Masons" license plates. That's how its listed in their database and they won't be able to find them in their system by any other reference.

I'm not sure on the law if your vehicle is registered in another state without a front plate and whether you can or cannot put your own (Masonic) plate on front.

I tried to download the form by I kept getting an error. My question is to get Texas Masons plates, do I have to show additional paperwork? Do I need to be a member of a Texas lodge?

If all goes well I will be living in Texas by the first of the year and I would like to get Masonic plates when I register my car in Texas.

No- the state doesn't care as long as they get your money. (Sad, but true).

Unless your plates were issued by the state of Texas, then yes, you would. Just like any other plate, they are issued in a set of two (front & rear). As you stated, Texas-registered vehicles must display tags front & rear & they must be the state-issued ones.

I wasnt sure. When I had Masonic plates in Indiana I had to fill out a form and get it stamped before I could get my plate. Here in Oklahoma I had to fill out a form and submit a photocopy of my dues card.

On the bright side I can still get the plates and casually visit the lodges in the area before I decide which one to join.
