Phil, Thomas is a member of Sam B Crawford you probably met him last Saturday at our installation. He is a BIG guy I could probably put you on my shoulders and then you would be able to look him in the eyes.

I quoted this post just to make sure you got alerted. If you'd be so kind, would you let the brethren of Sam B. Crawford Lodge know of the passing of W.Bro. Glen Gober? He laid down his working tools for the final time this morning, after a long decline in a nursing home here in Mankato.

I'm asking this because I know that Glen was a fairly regular attendee at Sam B. Crawford for years when he would "snow bird" down there during the winter, and always spoke fondly of you brothers.

I am truly sorry to here this brother. We we aware of his failing health and while I am sure he is with the Grand Architect he will be truly missed.

We greatly enjoyed his visits with us through the winter months and I am proud to have been able to call him my friend. Please give our respects to his family.

I'm currently working on learning TN form and I was raised in a Georgia lodge in 1989. Ga and TN or different. It's a challenge to relearn in another state. It's consistent practice. I go twice weekly to my teachers business and in between customers we practice ( he is a barber) and a pin of excellence holder. It can be done we've all gone this way as it goes. Often and consistently practice you will learn.

Various methods abound. The two I've found most helpful are mnemonic (associating with something you already know) and brute force (multiple repetition, dozens or even hundreds of times).

You'll also find commonalities in various parts, a rhythm or cadence in some areas, and words that rhyme in others. Mnemonic is particularly effective -- be it with Masonic work or anything you want to memorize -- if you associate it with something funny, shocking, ridiculous, or sexual.

The only thing that works for me consistently is brute force... multiple repetitions over and over. I also use as many different "input" methods that's aloud (will vary from place to place) such as reading, hearing, speaking etc. I did note various phrases do reappear so that helps.

Constant repetition has also worked for me. Funny thing is my coach has a long (about 18" appx) paint stick he has with him in case I get something wrong too many times. Thankfully hasn't had to use it...lol
