I was talking with the Grand Orator R.:W.: Jerry Martin this evening at our Lodge meeting.
I was asking him WHY if a person in my situation.... who has served since our Lodges installation as Worshipful Master Pro-Tem..... Why do we not get recognition from Grand Lodge for doing so? I mean.... you have served the part of the officer for the entire year and Grand Lodge Law is like "ho hum" so thanks for your time...... So, now you've got to serve another full year to finally get credit for being the Master of the Lodge.
Guys, I might be all wrong about this but that's a bunch of bull.
He suggested that I submit a resolution for Grand Lodge this year. (Which I can't because I'm not a Past Master). He said I was correct BUT, I could get someone else who is a Past Master to sponsor it......
He totally agrees with me and recommended that there be a minimum time limit of 6 months of service in the particular office that you are having to Pro-Tem. before you would be recognized by Grand Lodge as having officially served in that position.
What do ya'll think? And, would anybody be willing to support that?
