Inner Guard, or Sentinel

It's not too popular among most Mason's I've talked to, but my my Lodge's Sentinel. I love it. I post the colors, and escort the Senior Deacon when there's an alarm that's sounded.

The background picture painted on the wall is awesome !

Now, are we talking about the collar or nose ring ? Dark Blue ? Here, that indicates a Grand Lodge officer, and only they can wear dark blue collars..

Where is that temple ?

I've heard of an Inner Guard or Sentinel on these forums before. We do not have those here in Kentucky but I very much like hearing of things that I was now aware of. Congratulations on your position.

Interesting. We do not have an Inner Guard in PA. Here that job is divided between the Junior and Senior MCs and the Pursuivant, depending on what door has an alarm.

My lodge, Lodge St. John No. 27, New Brunswick, Canada, also has the Inner Guard seat. The station is also inside the west gate to the right of the Senior Warden and Junior Deacon. He is responsible for attending alarms and receiving candidates in due form.

Where there’s no Inner Guard, who communicates with the Tyler outside the door, and announces candidates and visitors to the JW?

In my jurisdiction, the Junior Deacon communicates with the Tyler, and candidates and visitors are announced to the WM by the Senior Deacon.

In Pennsylvania there is no "Inner Guard. The communication with the Tyler and charge of the Outer Door is the responsibility of the Pursuivant. The Chair of Pursuivant must be filled in order to open a Lodge so there is never an absence there, someone has to take that chair in the event of the regularly appointed Officers absence.
