    Thank you for your reply.

How big is SOMI in Italy? And how about internationally?

The Grand Orient of Italy (GOI) is the main, oldest and most numerous Obedience/Constiturion in Italy.

Origin: 1805, founded by Napoleon Bonaparte and Eugene de Beauharnais as a derivation from the Grand Orient of France.

    Regularity:
GOI admits only men, believers in God (regardless of his religious faith), opens the VSL on the Ara, works on the Glory or in the Name of GAOTU.

Rituals: Craft GOI, similar to AASR, and Emulation.

    Appendant Bodies or Improvement Rites:
    - AASR
    - York Rite
    - Memphis-Misraim
    - Scottish Adjusted
    - Noachita
    - Italian Symbolic Rite

International Recognitions: a large part of the world's regular Grand Lodges, but not the British ones.
In fact, in the 80s there was a scandal connected to the P2 Lodge - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_Due - and to other Lodges not linked to the GOI. A split resulted and the establishment of the Regular Grand Lodge of Italy, recognized by the British and a few others; currently RGLI has few affiliates, works in Emulation, practices the Masonry of the Brand and the Royal Arch, as "Perfection Rites".

Ok thanks. And how many mixed gender orders are there in Italy? Did I catch them all? As I don't speak Italian, it's not easy to check all the websites to see if they mention women :) I had to look for an indication on the SOMI site too using Google translator.

    Regarding the regular GLs:
Most eurloean GLs recognises the Regular GL of Italy but
Most american GLs recognises the Grand Orient of Italy wich is not related to GOdF.

    This is interresting.
    Wonder why?

Also to the point that YHWH wrote. If GOoI is not affiliated GOdF bvut still is derivated from it is quite interresting. There is a group in Finland that claims to be affiliated to GOdF and they are comasonry that allows atheists. Something very different from GOoI.

Remember that until the 1800s GOdF was regular. If I dont remember it wrong the GL of Sweden traces its orgin to GOdF. So even if GOoI has its orgins with GOdF it dont mean a thing.
The term grand orient has to do with a diffrence in certain aspects of how its governd.

As a member of both UGLE and two US jurisdictions I would be in an interesting predicament if I were to visit Italy.

Now this in itself is a very interesting statement. What sort of documentation is held about this foundation ?
