Lodge Officer Duties - Junior Deacon

    If we're talking purely from the ritual of an initiation, the JD would be the third officer involved in Emulation. The Tyler prepares the candidate, the Inner Guard receives him into the lodge and then the JD escorts him.

    Ah yes, I've just gone back and it is visitors. I got candidate sick in my head...

    Hmm. If you have candidate sick in your head, that is a bad thing. I have children who help with that sort of thing. Hahahahaha

    In PA the Junior Deacon does none of that. The Senior Master of Ceremonies would let a visitor into the Lodge from the Examining Room, along with the Examining Committee, and the chair of the Examining Committee would announce him, assuming he showed up after Lodge was open. If he came before the Lodge was open he would be examined, take a seat in Lodge and be announced and welcomed at some point by the Worshipful Master.
