I decided over a year ago to make my way into the Scottish Rite Valley of Dallas. A couple of minor hang ups later, next Saturday the 11th I will jump onboard on day 3 of the festival.

It is not that I have been inactive. In fact, this is one of the few Masonic bodies that I haven't participated in since joining the Fraternity back in 2007. The initial cost and my numerous other commitments and 2 teen daughters were a big part of my delay.

I am looking forward to receiving the degrees and being capped as a 32nd Degree "Master of the Royal Secret"!

Congratulations Brother! You will never regret it. Just as in the rest of Masonry you get out of it what you put into it. Welcome!

    Yes Brother, to both questions.

My work/life schedule kept me from attending the first 2 days of the spring reunion, so I am only doing the "1 day" this time around. I intend to catch the first two days at another time.

Simply contact the Grand Lodge of your state, region or country. They will put you on your way.

    You are not the first.
There are no lodges in Pakistan as freemasonry is outlawed.
This also means that you cant join any lodge so you cant become a member.

Unfortunately, true. The only way that you can join is if you move to another country where Freemasonry is legal.

Well, one could join in another country, though it would not be a wise option

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone Saturday!

I really hope to make the Capping Ceremony. I had to take vacation time to make the 3rd day, the 20th is my first day back to work and I'm not sure how all of that will play out yet.

Congratulations Brother Stewart. I was not able to make it for this reunion as much as I tried. But, alas, life got in the way. Please try to get off work at least a couple of hours to attend your capping ceremony. Although not as beautiful as the degrees, it is a part of your life you will remember forever.

I was happy to witness you receive the Degrees Saturday. I'm just glad I was able to make it. It was a juggling act but I pulled it off. Now we have more secrets to talk about :)

    Congratulations Brother

The Valley is presenting the class their caps at the Stated Meeting and our spouses and family are welcomed to attend the ceremony. There is also to be a special "degree presentation" for them as well.
