GOD and the Holy Bible

The Holy Bible, conformed by the Old and New Testaments, is the guide book of Catholics and other Christian cults.

The Holy Bible does not have a single author, but is the product of a compilation of different books and texts, even those that did not "fit" were discarded, being called today as the Apocryphal Gospels.

Talking about GOD is a subject of great debate, and that is not my intention but, if I want to comment that when reading the Bible, sometimes there is the feeling that the GOD of the Old Testament is different from the GOD of the New Testament, given in the Old is vengeful and bellicose while in the New it is a GOD of Peace, Love and Forgiveness.

Is the GOD of the Old Testament different from the New Testament? I hope it is a topic that generates a good and healthy debate.

I thank you in advance for the attention provided with this message.

Postscript: I believe in GOD, the Eternal and Omnipotent GOD, the alpha and omega of all things in the Universe and the other existential planes.

Does cult = denominations, protestants, and other non-Catholics to you?

So, to you God is not the author?

That's because the experience of God in the OT and NT are usually different and hence the expression. However, you can find the experience of God in the NT the same as the OT, if you want it bad enough.

God is God. There is only One. How one experiences that One is entirely the choice of the one making that choice.
I hope it is a topic that generates a good and healthy debate.
Yeah... me too...

I believe in the existence of God. Believing IN God brings its challenges due to my limitations. I believe God is eternal. I believe God is Omnipotent, and has chosen to place limitations on that as to allow for Free Will to be manifested in God's creations.

Because sectarian religious discussion is forbidden by landmark and what you posted goes directly to the difference between sectarian discussion, which divides, and non-denominational.

I know that since his forum is not a tiled space and as such the landmarks in theory do not apply here, but I'll still pass on such a complete drive into the center of landmark violations.

Those landmarks are not universal...

Hello, receive cordial greetings. The comment I did not intend to divide or generate confrontation.

The political and religious issues should not be treated, I am aware of that, and I reiterate that it was not the intention.

I know that these issues are "a rough terrain" but at no time was the intention bad.

I express my excuses in case of having made an error.

I agree with your appreciation, I also believe in an eternal, omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent GOD, who has given us free will, among many other things.

Mark89, have you been initiated yet? You are getting way ahead of yourself.

You are trying to discuss VERY ADVANCED TOPICS without having the proper foundation.

What you are doing reminds me of that old saying (dicho)

Quien abarca mucho poco aprieta

Roughly translated “You are biting off more than you can chew”

Cult-translation problem “culto” means “belief” and does not generally carry the negative meanings as in English.

Another problem, Mark89-your English does not appear proficient enough to discuss complex concepts without causing misunderstandings

Mark89-

This is a subject for your personal religious beliefs and your religious organization- should really not be discussed in either Masonic lodge or forum...bad manners (modales malas) to do so.

No sir, I have not started yet.

With the favor of GOD, in a few months, I will have my initiation ceremony.

I appreciate your advice, I am aware some issues are very advanced for the bases that I currently have, however I try to make the maximum effort to be up to the situation.

You beat me too it :) Another translation of the Latin word cultus refers to an outward religious practice, devotion, or veneration. It was common not that long ago in Catholic theology to speak of the cult of the saints and simply mean the veneration of the saints. The term dropped from common use because of the negative connotations the word carries now.

I would suggest that you NOT discuss anything controversial like religion or politics - most regular masons avoid these discussions because they are so divisive.

By the way, please don’t post things like religion and politics to try to start a “debate” - you’ll get an argument.

And Catholics ARE Christians BTW (I’m Anglican/Episcopalian nowadays) don’t understand why you make a distinction.

Sent from my iPhone using My Freemasonry mobile app

Yes sir, Catholics are also Christians, I do not try to make a distinction, I believe in the message "I sinned" because in Colombia being mostly Catholic, they usually make the differentiation of Catholic Christians with respect to other beliefs, sincerely it has not been my intention, if it is then, would be contradicting myself, because in that sense I am very open and receptive to different beliefs, without judging or dogmatizing, seeking the free development of each person.

Mark89 is not a Mason yet....sometimes I think we should limit membership in this forum to MASTER MASONS....

Yes sir, I understand. It is something that I have taken into account, that some Masons have told me and I honestly do not know what happened on this occasion. I apologize for this uncomfortable moment or offended anyone.

I hope not to repeat a similar situation and in future future continue generating healthy debates.

Yes sir, you're right. I've realized that it's not a good idea, it's not right.
