A claim of having been Knighted by the Queen should be easy to confirm. It sounds too much like folks going around claiming to be former Navy SEALs so I'll pass on checking. It's not relevant to Masonry and as such sounds to me like a justification for their status instead of having a valid...
The vast majority of clandestine masons have never been told that's what their order is. Most came in sincere and had no idea they were not joining the real deal. Sorry that it came as a surprise my friend. I urge you to locate a recognized lodge and transfer to it. The process is called...
Yet there is strength in diversity. Few are discussing unification. I suggest that there is a distinction that's missing. Sovereignty is a good thing. There's a spectrum of meaning and I'm not sure where it gores from good to bad. Calling each other clandestine for not understanding...
You need to check with your jurisdiction. Generally a brother doesn't have access to most of the GL publications until being raised so that's my best guess but it's only a guess. I took my degrees in California which is a cipher state and I was issued a small cipher booklet for each degree...
Some lodges have tried education and were successful. Other lodges have tried it with no success. The only pattern I see is the amount of direct personal mentoring has an effect of attendance.
Many men seem to join so they can be a part of our history. I'm okay with cashing their dues...
I am currently on contract with Teksystems in San Antonio so I'll point you at their Houston office.

Letter of the law versus spirit of the law is the issue to me. Plus the charges are not a part of the oath. Plus it's only the WM during the Installation who assents for the term of his year in the east.
So unless I'm WM that year to me there is an implicit "just" before the word magistrate...
I prefer monthly meetings. It's easier for the less involved brethren to schedule being at the Stated meeting that often.
The active members are there more often whether the meetings are in the bylaws or not so I don't see the benefit of more listed int he bylaws. If it's "stated" in the...
Not consistent enough for me to claim a pattern. I've been to Stated meetings that lasted under an hour and we were downstairs enjoying a meal and fellowship. I've been to Stated meetings that lasted from 7PM until 11PM there was so much business to conduct. Most are closer to 2 hours but the...
When you are outside of a lodge facility in Texas both regular jurisdictions have authority as far as territory goes. I even figure that to charter a new lodge they should really get approval from each other, though I doubt either will object as that's what GLs are supposed to do. When I read...
When we are dual members we need to follow the rules of all of the jurisdictions we are members of. Rules tend to be restrictions more often than allowances but they are often mixtures of both.
As an X mason he could visit because the agreement between those two jurisdictions allow that. As a...
I suspect many or most clandestine lodges re formed by expelled former Brothers. I do not think that's true of the majority of their members. I suspect the vast majority of their members are good men and true who came to their door not knowing the distinction between regular and clandestine.
I second this. Over the years I've gotten two tuxes (one still fits, chuckle). Both I got on the cheap. One used; one at a discount suit place.
As to which to wear, go with your own lodge's dress code. You have described what I'll call a 'traditional dress up lodge". You'll use your tux...
I don't need lodge to teach me that all men are brothers, but I do learn that there. I don't need church to teach me that all of humanity are one family, but I do learn it there. I don't need science to teach me that all of humanity is kin, but I do learn it there. That said the...
This sets up an interesting condundrum. Many jurisdictions print out their entire ritual minus a few important words. In those jurisdictions those are the only secrets. In other jurisdictions the amount that's secret is far greater. It's hard to know and very easy to over-estimate how much...
As Florida does not yet recognize PHA I won't say that a lodge not on the list is clandestine. There's a lot more to regularity than recognition and there are degrees of regularity. What you'd need to do is look up the PHA web site back in Illinois and see which Florida PHA GL they recognize...
The exact definitions may vary jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
Dual - Member of lodges in more than one jurisdiction. I'm California and Illinois, will petition in Texas in about a month
Multiple - Member of more than one lodges in the same jurisdiction. In Illinois my lodges are Barrington...
Friend Ahmed,
Thanks for changing your avatar. I look forward to a time when we are brothers and it will be time you you to use your previous one appropriately.
I wonder if they are members of other organizations who are going to the well from which their organization sprang or if they are not members of either and can't tell the difference. I figure the latter in the case of recent new posters.
