There is a good Lodge in Leander, Norton Moses #336 Norton Moses Masonic Lodge. Leander is right next to Cedar Park. Or send him my way if he is interested in Round Rock Lodge #227. Both have lots of young guys around.
You can message me for my contact info.
It is a beautiful facility and I highly recommend attending if you hear that one of the resident lodges is holding a "full dress" degree in the theater. The costumes, hand painted backdrops and scenery and excellent degree teams make these very meaningful observances.
Wow! We had exactly the same issue with a couple of OES members putting the hard sell on my wife while I was busy with installation this weekend.
I was especially miffed that the Brother didn't come into the lodge room to help finish the day up. Instead, he and his wife stayed in the...
Impressive!
As for me, my father, grandfather and great grand father and a couple of my great uncles are/were Masons.
My dad wears a ring that belonged to my grandfather and I wear a ring that was worn by my great uncle.
I dig almost anything made by Rocky Patel. Especially the 1990 and 1992s. When I want something a lot stronger, I like the Partagas Black by C Fuentes.
I used to have a cigar guy here in town who was always giving me freebies to try out. Eventually got fired for giving away too many nice...
Thank you very much. It is a good, solid group of guys. The officers are enthusiastic about their involvement and that gets lots of guys interested in helping out. All of these degrees have made for an exciting AND busy year around 227.
At Round Rock 227, we raised 15 this year and might have a couple more before the year ends. There are several EAs and FCs working away currently. We had a couple of brothers transfer or demit and a couple of deaths this year.
The only Mason my wife knew beforehand was my dad. And he is great representative for our fraternity. So when i finally petitioned, she was only surprised that I waited so long.
She was skeptical about me joining the Shrine, just because she thought I would not fit in with the old, rich men...
Yeah, that dies get pricey at the Gulf. I still fish some artificials when I am working off of the father-inlaw's pier, because of that.
By the way, I had a BLAST at the Shrine Ceremonial yesterday. Never knew that I look GOOD in a fez!
I went straight from a Shrine function last night, across the street to catch the late show!
It was a good flick, but I did not think it followed the book close enough.
That is cool! My father in law lives right on Matagorda Bay and I would be fishing down there this weekend if not for my Shrine initiation tomorrow.
Oh well, that is the nice part of him living there, we can get to the bay any time he lets us!
I am handing my Shrine petition tonight.
I was going to wait a few more years, but several of my blue lodge brothers have gotten active in the Ben Hur Shrine, here in Austin, and they have sold me on it.
