Well, no, the lodge members' willingness to vote for you is not all that counts. Aside from the obligation we take regarding obedience to our GL constitution, I am specifically aware of an AR Mason who was removed under this rule.
What I meant is some Jurisdictions are more lenient than others. Many believe a Felony conviction leads to an automatic black cube, yet it isn't 100% true. Once the candidate meets and gets to know the Brethren they may decide to vote him in. Not knowing how the constitution of that state is worded it could still be possible to be voted in. If my constitution barred bar owners I would see no reason to black cube a bar employee.
