Log rolls

I don't mean to sound ignorant but what does it mean when informed No rolling log rolls, forward rolls required? I appreciate your time in regards to this.

I don't recall anything like this in Masonry. This sounds like an issue outside of Masonry.

What I notice is logs are cylinders not spheres. They roll in one dimension not the other. The direction they do roll is what I tend to consider sideways. The reason lumber places use rivers, sluices and conveyor belts is they need logs to move forward but logs don't roll in that direction.
