GL of Virginia Prohibits Transgendered Petitioners

Re: GL of Virginia Prohibits Transgendered Petitio Actually, hormone therapy before/during/after surgery can change a chromosome registry. It's to testing in a number of sports.

    Masonic Diploma

A newer UGLE certificate is still nearly the same, with the obvious exceptions. Brother Ryan J Flynn creates some masterful patents. http://www.ryanjflynn.com/

    Noah

How "religious" can it be? Man hears voice of God, man obeys, job well done, the end. Anything beyond that is just glitter.

Looks like there are thirteen Scottish Lodges there as well...

    Newest Shriner

My Initiation, Passing, and Raising were for me and those who have gone before me. Period. My family has gotten to see me installed in various stations and places... that's plenty of sharing.

    Degrees

The clasps on many aprons (PM, Grand Whatever) have a stylized serpent forming the s-hook. I believe that is what is being referred to here.

What would you recommend as a first reference book

Re: What would you recommend as a first reference My advice is to just listen to the ritual parts and absorb the energy.

Albert Pike: More harm than good?

Actually, the only one with an outdoor statue. Robert E Lee also has a statue in DC.

    Fee's for Degrees?

The great thing about the internet is that no one can hear me scream when I try to read certain posts.

Yep, read what you want, then hit the "Mark As Read" button for the rest.

    "Lodge Politics"

In NM, campaigning or electioneering are forbidden. The lodge generally votes in a linear fashion, but I have seen some shake-ups over the last few years. It's a shame to see someone rushed through the chairs just so he can have "PM" at the end of his name.

questions brothers ask and answer in public?

I was signing a customer in for service yesterday and he asked me, "Are you a Mason?" I said yes, he said me, too, and a quick conversation followed. Turns out we've crossed paths at Officer Association meetings, but never actually met.

First sentence of my post; I was discussing the members-only website.

    Question

One of my lodges has an excellent website for members. Recently, a clandestinely made mason was accepted into the lodge, slipping through all the checks and balances of both lodge and grand lodge. When he was discovered, he had to be cast out by an official ballot, and all passwords changed...

    Question

Name me a corporation with six million employees spread over the globe. I guarantee they have security issues online. There are hundreds of grand lodges with thousands of lodges. Some of those don't even have a phone. I see the "big picture," I just don't see a need to be proven online. If I...

    Question

It is impossible to fully tyle an online forum. Even the most well-vetted sites I know of, with multiple checks (including phone calls to lodge secretaries) aren't completely safe.

    What Symbol is this?

I don't get that impression. It appears to be a clay tablet with a stylus. Hard to tell on a phone, though.

    Fee's for Degrees?

You should have been informed of all fees, dues, costs, et cetera during your investigation. In NM it is part of the Investigation Committee report.

    Dues

You seem to be in the minority, Companion. Most of this discussion has centered around lodges that can't pay for their buildings, can't pay scholarships (or any community giving), can't pay for a decent dinner. Huzzah to your lodge's forward thinking years ago.
